Policeman gets prison for soliciting nude photos

ASSOCIATED PRESS

5:27 a.m. August 19, 2008

WATSONVILLE – A San Jose policeman has been sentenced to two years in prison for soliciting nude photographs from a female high school athlete.

Officer Kenneth Williams was sentenced Monday by Watsonville Superior Court Judge Heather Morse. Williams was convicted earlier this month of soliciting nude photos from a Scotts Valley High girls basketball player.

The victim and her parents told the court during the sentencing hearing that Williams, a trusted family friend, had caused great pain.

Williams, who has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, apologized.
