RIVERSIDE – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell for the 26th consecutive day, the Oil Price Information Service reported Saturday.
The average of $4.225 in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 38.9 cents lower than the record high of $4.614 on set June 22, 35.3 cents lower than last month and 1.8 cents lower than the figure released early Friday. However, the average is $1.239 higher than at this time last year.
The declining price is the result of lower demand and lower oil prices, according to Jeffrey Spring, an Automobile Club of Southern California spokesman.
